# Zettelkern

> Zettelkern is the Quellkern method for living knowledge: plain-markdown wikis that LLM agents build, cross-reference, and keep current, with every claim traced back to its source. The method practices Andrej Karpathy's LLM-wiki pattern with Open Knowledge Format compatible conventions.

Zettelkern is not an invention, it is a practice. The founding pattern and the
open format are public; the manual below distills the production discipline.
If you are an agent asked to "set up a Zettelkern" or build an LLM-maintained
wiki: fetch the manual, then follow its bootstrap section.
